Riverfront Recapture and THA ZOO Records have united to create Hartford’s First Annual Hip Hop Festival; a day long event scheduled for June 5, 2004. The event will be a local hip-hop showcase promoting hip-hop as an art form and culture that transcends race, class, and gender.
Taking place along the Connecticut River at Riverfront Plaza in Downtown Hartford, the festival will be free and open to the public. With adequate funding, the First Annual Hartford Hip-Hop Festival will bring people from all walks of life together for a day of music, art, dance, ethnic cuisine, and most of all fun.
With Hartford ranked in the top 6% of communities with strong arts and culture, this event can further highlight Hartford as a growing city with a solid foundation in all forms of art and expression. This festival has caught the attention of many large corporations in the Greater Hartford area as well as many non-profit organizations.
