Company description::
An alternative magazine for mainstream people, Events Quarterly, established 4 years ago, has made its way into homes in 61 countries, spanning every inhabited continent on earth. Events Quarterly is a different kind of entertainment magazine, offering news, entertainment, arts, and politics. Owner and editor of the publication, Ryan D. Brinkhurst, mentions that Events Quarterly is "for people who want different points of view without blame." The issue of "blame" is that many alternative points of view "blame everyone who is not poor or not actively involved in PETA," says Ryan. However, Events Quarterly more carefully examines international political issues. "Sure, we have articles that blame Bush for everything, but we also have articles that praise Bush for his leadership; we are not taking sides. We are providing several, fair points of view," says Ryan.

Events Quartery's issues include interviews with New York Times best seller Steve Alten, "Crash Test Dummies" Brad Roberts, accomplished pianist Jim Brickman, and popular New York City artist Susan Ritter. Events Quarterly's Spring edition, due out on March 21, will include an interview with writer Jenna Glatzer. Ryan is not concerned with how many people are talking about Events Quarterly; he cares more about how many people are reading the magazine. He points out that Events Quarterly is not the sort of magazine people read once because everyone else is reading it. "It is a magazine that people keep reading because they want to," says Ryan.

Often, people think arts and politics do not mix, but Ryan calls politics the "perfect side dish for art, literature, music, and entertainment." He brings politics into the artistic forum, suggesting that politicians are entertainers, and entertainers are often involved in politics. Events Quarterly is not taking a satirical look at either entertainment or politics; it is recognizing that citizens of the world are interested in all public figures.

Ryan D. Brinkhurst is a graduate of English and Politics from Trent University. In 2000 he started a small internet magazine in hopes of reaching a wide audience. With his aspirations to be a writer and his political knowledge, the next logical step was to create Events Quarterly. The growth of Events Quarterly, in only 4 years, is unprecedented. Events Quarterly is doubling its reader base yearly. Event Quarterly can be seen online at http://www.eventsquarterly.com/.
