First-time filmmaker, Heather Robertson presents Legend In Film Award to Actor Ben Gazzara at Palm Beach Int'l Film Festival's Gala Awards April 17th, 2004
WHO: Director/Writer/Producer, Heather Robertson who is showcasing her Comedy/Mockumentary, "Casting Adrift" at
the Palm Beach International Film Festival (PBIFF) has been asked to present a Legend In Film award to Actor Ben
Gazzara at the Grand Gala Awards Show. Also honored will be Michael Clarke Duncan for Career Achievement,
Shohreh Agheashloo for Emerging Talent and Rod Steiger's widow will be present for a special tribute (Steiger
received Lifetime Achievement Award in 1999).
Robertson is a graduate of St. Paul's School and Georgetown University, where she received a B.A. in English Literature. She worked in television production's "talk" genre through 1996 then enrolled in the New School's MFA program in Creative Writing, making her way to New York Film Academy's Intensive Digital Filmmaking Course. Robertson went into production of "Casting Adrift" in East Hampton, NY in February 2003, wrapping production in just 5 weeks. Robertson is the daughter of accomplished actors Cliff Robertson and Dina Merrill
Gazzara studied acting at New York's New School for Social Research before working at the Actors' Studio. Like other New York-based actors during the early 1950s, he toiled in off-Broadway plays and on TV before landing on Broadway. His film debut was in 1957's The Strange One other credits include: Anatomy of a Murder (1959) Convicts Four (1962),but most people recognize him as the star of the TV series "Run for Your Life" (1965-68) and later movies,Road House (1989) and Thomas Crown Affair (1999).

Gazzara was born in 1930. Robertson is in her 30s.
